Our story
From Sicily to Veneto.
And now, beyond.

Sicilian Goodness® began in 2015 as a project devoted to exporting outstanding Sicilian products to EU and non-EU markets.
In 2019, founders Sebastiano Azzolina and Vanessa Auteri chose Padua as their new destination and the home of the first pilot shop. That experience became the Sicilian Goodness chain: a dynamic, sustainable and replicable project that turns Sicilian authenticity into a contemporary retail concept.
Today the network brings together 4 stores and one central production facility. Arancini, cannoli, cassata, gelato, granita, savouries and coffee create a complete selection for every moment of the day.
Growth continues through new openings and franchise partnerships, taking the concept to new cities while preserving quality, identity and brand strength.
We did more than open shops. We created places where people can rediscover Sicily.

From 2019 to today
From “the arancini people”
to a project looking far ahead.
A story of openings, difficult moments, financial commitments, intuition and determination. Every step changed the way we think about Sicilian Goodness and brought us closer to the format we have today.

The first pilot store.
Under the arcades of Palazzo della Ragione, at Piazza della Frutta 5, we open the first Sicilian Goodness. A small shop, plenty of ideas and a simple initial offer: arancini, cannoli, cassata and a few granita flavours.
People in the city begin to call us affectionately “the arancini people”. Those first customers teach us something every day and help us understand how far the project could go.
Covid arrives. We choose to keep going.
In February 2020 we are forced to close and temporarily return to Sicily. We come back to Padua and reopen at the end of April. Covid puts us under enormous pressure, but it also forces us to change quickly.
We invest heavily in delivery: if customers cannot come to us, we want to bring a piece of Sicily into their homes. In June 2020 we open our production facility in Noventa Padovana, and in December we open our second store.
A major step forward.
We open our third store on Padua’s central shopping street. It becomes a defining milestone: the brand grows, the concept becomes more recognisable and we begin to see Sicilian Goodness not as a single shop, but as a real network.
From takeaway to a bistro concept.
We open a venue of more than 130 sqm and experiment with a larger format, designed for both takeaway and on-site service. The experience gained over the years leads us to evolve the offer and create spaces suited to different moments of the day.
The full format takes shape.
In Padua’s Stanga district we open a concept combining coffee bar, pastry, Sicilian savouries, gelato and restaurant service. It brings together what we learned during the first years and becomes an important foundation for the model we want to replicate.
Sicilian Goodness arrives at Valecenter.
We open a food corner inside Valecenter Shopping Centre. A new setting, a new audience and another step in building a brand that can adapt to different locations while preserving its identity.
A new opening, the same determination.
We open at Via Niccolò Tommaseo 80C. These have been difficult years: we invested, took on significant financial commitments with banks and faced moments when stopping would have been easier. We chose to grow and move forward.
From the network to franchising.
Today we believe franchising can turn years of hands-on experience into a replicable model, helping us bring Sicilian Goodness to leading Italian cities and, over time, across Europe.
We do not promise shortcuts. We bring what we have truly learned, including the difficult moments. That experience is part of the strength of the project.
